A consciously lived life, actively grounded in daily ritual Earth affirmations of sacred connectedness to the natural environment, can bring about very real changes deep within our own selves, in our value systems as individual human beings, and also in our relationship to Earth. In this way, we can experience a transformative reconciliation with various aspects of our own selves, and in the process, with Earth herself.
There are moments we have all experienced when suddenly we are at one with Earth as a sacred presence. Where a certain kind of bright silence pervades the wild land, and rises like an illuminated white mist across the landscape of your own soul. Suddenly, you know yourself in a very particular way. Suddenly you are moved by a sense of reality that is about being right here, in this moment and suddenly we realize Earth-in-her-Angel. In tracts of Nature that are unmarked by human presence there is very little to dim the radiance of the inexpressible. This is not to deny at all the possibility of the same intensity of numinous connection occurring on Madison Avenue on a crowded Saturday afternoon in New York. A sudden instinctive downward glance, and there, in a black crack on a grimy sidewalk is a sweet green leafy tender reaching bravely, struggling magnificently to make itself known for a just a moment in an unforgiving concretescape. A human stops to enjoy its shocking viridescence and sends thanks and praises to the Nature deities for this sweet, unexpected, and fragile greeting.
