Earth is a Manifest Form of the Divine

We know terra lucida – Earth of Light – as an aspect of Divinity that is translated into the world as a myriad of beings both physical and psychical. The Zoroastrian texts of ancient Persia describe the soul of the world as Earth-in-her-Angel, whom we should see and experience as the powerful, wondrous, loving, archetypal, intelligent and Self-aware being that she is − in her own right! AND … she loves us as fiercely, as compassionately and as faith-fully as does the Divine.

We also view the natural world as being sacramental to psyche or the soul; of Nature and all life forms being inseparable, and to imagining variously the relations between them. The anima mundi, or world-soul is the Sacred translated into this multi-faceted and multi-dimensional world as a myriad of beings. Knowing and living the essential unity of the soul and Nature is one of many powerful ways to come to wholeness and integrity as individuals and as communities.

How does one experience the unity of the soul and Nature? A consciously lived life, actively grounded in daily ritual acknowledgments of sacred connectedness to the natural environment, can bring about very real and concretely expressed changes in the value systems we abide by and also in our relationship to Earth.
