About Ismana

Ismana Carney is a shamanic therapist and holds a Ph.D. in Depth Psychology. Her work is grounded in Carl Jung’s approach to dream work, archetypal, and Nature psychology, and cultivating the soul via Earth-centered rituals and therapeutic shamanic practices. Ismana teaches college and university courses in comparative world religions with a special emphasis on the mystical traditions. For the past two decades Ismana has also been involved both professionally and personally with Native indigenous tribal communities and their cultural and spiritual traditions. Ismana is also an award-winning documentary filmmaker whose work focuses on Native American cultural and spiritual life.

As an Earth-centered shamanic therapist, Ismana facilitates transformational circles, workshops, and rituals for individuals and groups, with a special focus on women’s needs. These offerings are richly informed by world indigenous tribal cultural and spiritual ways, and ancient Celtic, Nordic, and Vedic wisdom traditions. Ismana’s therapeutic shamanic practice includes rites of passage, purification and fasting rituals, shamanic healing circles, dreamwork, cultivating soul, understanding the role of archetypes in our lives, and working ritually with earth, air, fire, and water.

She is the author of: Individuation in the Heart of the Matter: An Earth-centered Perspective.
